Review #16578930 “Owl Cottage Is a Grade Ii Listed Building Set In The Beautiful Ribble Valley”

A warm welcome in a peaceful setting of outstanding beauty

★ ★ ★ ★ ★

The cottage has room for up to three; all the necessary equipment in good order; everything clean and tidy. In addition our hosts added that little extra with festive decorations for our end-of-year visit.

The cottage is an extension of a Grade II listed dwelling with history going back to the Reformation.

It faces north on the slopes of a hill with woodland and fields behind and a wide panorama in front over sheep fields and conservation land.

This is the countryside that inspired Tolkien as a boy later to invent Middle Earth and you will understand Lord of the Rings far better once you have visited this place.

Our hosts were friendly, attentive and relaxed. The farm they run has sheep, chickens and ducks. No dogs or cats.. as far as we could tell.

We want to go back.
